The Difference Is in the Construction

3M Trizact PSA Film Disc 268XA is a high-quality abrasive disc that is designed for a variety of applications. It features a polyester backing, which makes it water-resistant and suitable for both wet and dry sanding. This disc is commonly used for damp sanding on different substrates, including acrylic products, solid surface materials, and glass. By using a lubricant like water, the disc can run cool and effectively wash away debris, preventing any warping or discoloration of the substrate. The 3M Trizact PSA Film Disc 268XA is typically used in the middle of a sanding sequence to bring the workpiece closer to the desired matte, semi-gloss, or high gloss finish. Although it can be used damp, this disc requires minimal water for optimal results.

Advanced Technology for Superior Performance

What sets the 3M Trizact PSA Film Disc 268XA apart is its use of 3M microreplication technology. This technology creates a surface with patterned, microscopic, three-dimensional structures that resemble pyramids. Unlike conventional coated abrasives that have irregularly spaced mineral particles, Trizact abrasives focus on uniformity. As the pyramids wear down, fresh and sharp mineral particles are exposed, ensuring a consistent cut and a predictable, fine finish. This innovative design reduces the chances of inconsistent results, leading to fewer scraps and discards. The ongoing sharp cutting action of the Trizact PSA Film Disc 268XA also eliminates the need for additional abrasives in the sanding sequence, streamlining the process and improving productivity.

Easy Attachment with PSA Technology

The 3M Trizact PSA Film Disc 268XA features a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) on the back, making it easy to attach to a disc pad. Simply press the disc onto the pad, and it will securely adhere. When it's time to remove the disc, it can be peeled off effortlessly, leaving a clean surface for the next disc. For added convenience, the disc is available in rolls, allowing for quick and easy tearing off of individual discs without the need to remove individual liners. To use the PSA disc, it should be paired with a PSA or 3M Stikit backup pad (sold separately) that can be attached to a random orbital sander.

Great Versatility for Different Applications

The 3M Trizact PSA Film Disc 268XA is available in a range of grades, from A5 to A35. This allows operators to choose the right grade for their specific application. The lower the A-grade, the finer the grade of the disc. For a fine finish, operators should select a smaller grade like A5, while a coarser finish can be achieved with a larger grade like A35. To make grade selection easier, the discs are color-coded, reducing the risk of mistakenly using the wrong grade in a sanding sequence. Regardless of the grade chosen, operators can rely on the exceptional performance of the 3M Trizact PSA Film Disc 268XA, as it provides fast cutting action and consistent finishes, part after part.
