These discs are perfect for a wide range of applications, with a primary focus on stock removal. They are highly effective on various substrates, including metals, composites, gelcoat, and whitewood. The C-weight paper backing is specifically designed for sanding applications where edge retention is not the main requirement. For optimal results, we recommend using these discs with 3M Elite Random Orbital Sanders.

A comprehensive selection of hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs is available for workspaces where adhesive-backed discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt. These discs are commonly used in applications where a 3M Stikit disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit discs tend to provide finer finishes compared to adhesive-backed discs. Hookit sanding discs can be conveniently attached to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately), and they can be easily removed and reused multiple times throughout the lifespan of the abrasive.

Sandpaper discs perform better and last longer when the cutting surface is not loaded with dust. Our Clean Sanding products feature a proprietary multi-hole pattern that effectively evacuates dust at a higher rate compared to 5- or 6-hole products. This unique hole design eliminates the need for aligning holes with the disc pad, making disc changes quick and simple. The open coat construction ensures that the abrasive grains are spaced apart, allowing for efficient dust and sanding debris evacuation while preventing clogging of the cutting edge. The load-resistant coating enables the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would typically clog the disc and hinder sanding ability. All of these features contribute to increased productivity and reduced material consumption. For maximum dust extraction, we recommend using this disc with a 3M Hookit Clean Sanding pad and a random orbital sander with vacuum (both sold separately).
