The silicon carbide abrasive sheets create a smoother finish compared to other abrasive products such as aluminum oxide or garnet on painted metal and wood substrates. This is due to its resin bond construction, which provides superior grain retention. The open coat construction, combined with the load resistant coating, also contributes to excellent anti-loading characteristics. The sheets are made with a light A-weight backing, allowing them to conform to contours, crevasses, and corners. They can be easily cut to fit hand pad blocks, inline sanders, or finishing and power sanders. In addition to final finishing in white wood sanding, these versatile sanding sheets can be used for general sanding, finishing, blending, surface leveling, and preparation prior to staining or painting. They contain the ideal abrasive grain type and grades for multi-step finishing processes. Silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral known for its sharpness. It is commonly used for final finishing in white wood sanding. Although it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.
