Scotch-Brite Metal Finishing Wheel combines conformability with consistent abrasive cutting action to provide uniform brushed stainless and satin finishes. The Metal Finishing Wheel is also used effectively to blend and match #3 or #4 mill finishes on stainless steel and to create brushed or satin finishes on items such as cutlery, appliance trim, builders hardware, and plumbing fixtures.

  • High conformability and uniform wear provides consistent cutting power to produce superior satin, mill and brushed finishes
  • Open-web construction resists loading and runs cool to provide professional results on stainless steel, brass, aluminum and other metals
  • Controlled abrasive action helps prevent undercutting or gouging
  • Highly conformable wheel effectively finishes irregular or contoured surfaces
  • Convolute construction wound around a fiber core runs smooth to provide fine, uniform finishing

Scotch-Brite Metal Finishing Wheels

Scotch-Brite Metal Finishing Wheels are specially designed for softer metals such as aluminum, copper, and brass. These wheels are used to blend out minor surface imperfections and handling marks while providing a desired decorative finish on products like builder's hardware and plumbing fixtures. They are typically used on stationary machinery and are available in diameters ranging from 6 to 16 inches and widths of 1/2 inch and greater. The wheels are highly conformable and are convolutely wound on a core to ensure smooth operation and professional finishing results. They are available in two grades: CRS and MED.

Aluminum Oxide Abrasive

The Scotch-Brite Metal Finishing Wheel utilizes aluminum oxide abrasive. This type of abrasive is widely used in grinding applications, as well as sanding and finishing, due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

Unique Surface Conditioning

Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives are unique surface conditioning products that incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers. By combining abrasives with the fibers, these products create an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the life of the product. The open-web material of the Scotch-Brite wheels runs cool and is resistant to loading, which prevents clogging of the fibers and allows the abrasive minerals to cut at high performance levels.
