PRODUCT FAQ
-
What is the main purpose of 3M™ Low-Static Polyimide Film Tape 5419 Gold?
The main purpose of this tape is to provide a high-performance option for masking, powder coating, and electrical insulation applications where electrostatic discharge (ESD) properties are important. It offers excellent thermal stability and good dielectric strength.
-
Can this tape withstand high temperatures?
Yes, this polyimide film tape has a temperature range from -100°F to 500°F (-73°C to 260°C), making it suitable for use in challenging environments that involve extreme heat or cold.
-
How many rolls come in one case of the 3M™ Low-Static Polyimide Film Tape 5419 Gold?
Each case contains a total of 36 rolls of the gold-colored polyimide film tape, each measuring 1/4 inch x 36 yards x 2.7 mil. This quantity makes it convenient for bulk purchasing or larger projects.
The 3M Tape 5419 employs a proprietary technology that ensures extremely low electrostatic discharge during unwinding and removal from the Printed Wiring Board (PWB). Unlike conventional polyimide tapes that can generate over 10,000 volts during use, this tape overcomes the problem of damaging board-mounted electronic components. It eliminates the typical drawbacks of conventional "anti-static" or "static-free" tapes, such as variable adhesion and opaqueness.
Halogen Free Definition:The term "Halogen Free" refers to the definition set by the International Electrochemical Commission (IEC) 61249-2-21. According to this definition, a product can be classified as "Halogen Free" if it meets the following limits: maximum chlorine content of 900 ppm, maximum bromine content of 900 ppm, and maximum total halogens content of 1500 ppm.
