PRODUCT FAQ
-
What are the key features of 3M™ Low-Static Polyimide Film Tape 5419 Gold?
The tape is made of a durable polyimide film with excellent electrical and thermal insulation properties, making it ideal for a variety of applications.
-
What size is the 3M™ Low-Static Polyimide Film Tape 5419 Gold that comes in bulk packaging?
The tape comes in a roll measuring 24 inches wide by 36 yards long, with a thickness of 2.7 mils.
-
Can this tape be used in high-temperature environments?
Yes, this polyimide film tape can withstand elevated temperatures up to 500°F (260°C), making it suitable for applications where heat resistance is crucial.
-
Is the low-static feature important for certain applications?
Absolutely! The low-static nature of this tape helps minimize the risk of attracting dust or debris during application, ensuring a clean and reliable bond.
-
How does purchasing in bulk benefit customers compared to individual rolls?
Buying in bulk not only provides cost savings but also ensures that you have an ample supply on hand for larger projects or frequent use without needing to reorder frequently.
The 3M Tape 5419 employs a proprietary technology that ensures extremely low electrostatic discharge during unwinding and removal from the Printed Wiring Board (PWB). Unlike conventional polyimide tapes that can generate over 10,000 volts during use, this tape overcomes the problem of damaging board-mounted electronic components. It eliminates the typical drawbacks of conventional "anti-static" or "static-free" tapes, such as variable adhesion and opaqueness.
Halogen Free Definition:The term "Halogen Free" refers to the definition set by the International Electrochemical Commission (IEC) 61249-2-21. According to this definition, a product can be classified as "Halogen Free" if it meets the following limits: maximum chlorine content of 900 ppm, maximum bromine content of 900 ppm, and maximum total halogens content of 1500 ppm.
