PRODUCT FAQ
-
What makes the 3M™ Cloth Belt 577F different from other abrasive belts?
The 3M™ Cloth Belt 577F has a premium aluminum oxide grain which offers exceptional durability and cut rate. It also features a resin bond that resists heat and provides moisture resistance.
-
How many belts come in each case of the 3M™ Cloth Belt 577F?
Each case of the 3M™ Cloth Belt 577F contains 25 Sine-lok, Single-flex belts with a length of four inches by one hundred thirty-two inches. Five belts come in each inner pack for easy storage and inventory.
-
Is it possible to use these abrasive belts for wet applications?
Yes, you can use these abrasive cloth belts on both dry and wet surfaces thanks to its durable and moisture-resistant material composition.
3M™ Cloth Belt 577F is a versatile abrasive belt that is ideal for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings made of aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys. This belt is designed to run cool on heat-sensitive metals such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. The incorporation of a grinding aid in the belt helps to reduce running temperatures, protecting the alloys from heat damage. The abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The use of alumina zirconia abrasive fractures frequently to continually produce sharp points and deliver a faster cut-rate than aluminum oxide. This synthetic mineral was developed for heavy stock removal and high-pressure grinding.
Sized to Suit Your NeedsAbrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different metalworking applications. 3M offers a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders and feed-through style flat finishers to smooth rough-cut edges of metal sheets or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts are generally used on a backstand for weld removal or for imparting a finish. Narrow belts can be used on file tools to access right angle corners for finishing.
