Is there anything I should know about storing this product?

Definitely keep the rolls in a dry area at room temperature - exposure to moisture could affect the performance of the adhesive. If properly stored, though, you should be good for up to two years!
Can I purchase just one roll or do I need to buy in bulk?

I'm afraid they only come packaged as cases with 24 rolls per case. But depending on how much packaging you do, having some extra on hand might not be such a bad thing.

Strong Backing Provides Reliable and Exceptional Performance

3M™ Repulpable Strong Single Coated Tape R3187 is a 7.5 mil single coated repulpable tape. It features a strong, extensible, bleached kraft paper backing that can withstand the rigors of the printing environment. The backing is engineered for optimum strength for splicing, tabbing and roll closing. It offers high shear strength and is coated with a high-tack, clear, repulpable adhesive designed to bond to heavy grades of paper. This tape performs well at higher temperatures and is available in both blue and white.

High-Tack, Heat-Resistant Adhesive

3M™ Repulpable Strong Single Coated Tape R3187 features a repulpable, high-tack transparent adhesive designed to provide excellent bonding strength to a wide variety of paper products, including heavy grades of paper. This heat-resistant adhesive reduces splicing failure and performs in web applications at temperatures are high as 350°F/176°C.

Repulpable Adhesive won't Contaminate Paper Mill Broke

The repulpable adhesive on 3M™ Repulpable Strong Single Coated Tape R3187 prevents broke contamination for non-repulpable splice material. This product meets or exceeds TAPPI UM-213, procedure A, FDA complaint 21 CFR 176.170 for components of paper and paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty food.
