3M™ Plasticizer Resistant Hook Fastener SJ3522 is an acrylic-based hook fastener that offers better performance and durability. It comes with a 3.5 mil (0.08 mm) polyolefin film liner and is an excellent alternative to various closures such as zippers, screws, snaps, hooks, and more. The fastener has flexible J-shaped hooks, with approximately 300 hooks per square inch (46 hooks/square cm.), protruding from a woven backing. It is commonly used with 3M™ Plasticizer Resistant Loop Fastener SJ3523 and can also engage with other 3M™ Loop Fasteners. Both the hook and the corresponding loop are preshrunk to ensure stability and flatness.

Plasticizer Resistant Acrylic Adhesive

The backing of 3M™ Plasticizer Resistant Hook Fastener SJ3522 is coated with a plasticizer resistant acrylic-based pressure sensitive adhesive. The adhesive strength increases over time, allowing for some repositioning before achieving full bond strength. It is designed specifically for use with flexible vinyls and can resist many plasticizers. The adhesive has good temperature and moisture resistance, UV stability, and excellent shear strength.

3M™ Hook and Loop Fasteners offer great design flexibility, fast product assembly, smooth and clean exterior surfaces, and excellent product performance in many applications. The fasteners consist of hooks and loops that engage to form a quick fastening attachment. To disengage the attachment, simply pull the strips apart by hand. The use of a pressure sensitive adhesive reduces or eliminates the need for sewing, solvent activation, dielectric or ultrasonic bonding, or bulk adhesive bonding. Pressure sensitive adhesive products can be applied manually or automatically using a variety of equipment choices.
