3M Thin Flexographic Mounting Tape 2205 is a 5 mil, double coated film tape with differential acrylic adhesives on a polyester film carrier with a polycoated kraft paper liner. This tape is specifically designed for the corrugated printing business to hold flexographic print plates to PVC saddles/carriers.
- 0.005 inch (0.13 mm) double-coated tape designed for the corrugated printing business to hold flexographic print plates to PVC carriers/saddles and PET carriers/saddles
- Linered side of the tape has crosshatched pattern that allows air to escape from between the tape and the carrier
- Adhesive on non-linered side of the tape is designed for mounting of photopolymer plates
- Excellent holding power on-press with high plate side adhesion
- Embossed polycoated kraft (PCK) paper liner
- Clean plate removal when demounting or repositioning

3M™ Thin Flexographic Mounting Tape 2205 is a high-quality mounting tape that features the innovative 3M air release liner. Unlike other mounting tapes that use a pebbled or flat release liner, the 3M air release liner has a crosshatched pattern that imprints unique micro-channels into the easy mount adhesive. This allows entrapped air to escape, resulting in virtually bubble-free mounting.
With 3M™ Thin Flexographic Mounting Tape 2205, air bubbles disappear from between the tape and plate, and between the tape and sleeve or cylinder. This makes setup faster and provides smoother surfaces for cleaner print quality and higher productivity. Additionally, the adhesive maintains tight contact with reduced edge lifting.
