PRODUCT FAQ
-
What is 3M™ Stikit™ Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U, P400 A-weight, 5 in x NH, Die500X, 175 Discs/Roll, 6 Rolls/Case?
It is a sanding disc roll made by 3M that includes high-quality gold abrasive mineral and a versatile adhesive backing. This roll has an A-weight paper backing cut into five-inch diameter discs with no hole.
-
How many discs are included in each roll of the product?
Each roll contains up to 175 discs for your convenience.
-
How should I use this product effectively?
You can stick these discs anywhere you wish just by pressing them against your work material. The pressure-sensitive adhesive on the back of the disc eliminates heavy-duty clamps or fixturing.
-
Can it be used across different tools or does it require specific ones for operation?
Yes! It is designed to work optimally with random orbital sanders and grinding machines. However, it can also work well with other existing manual and power sanding devices holding five-inch pads as long as they have appropriate faceplates.
-
Is every part of this product environmentally safe?
. Of course! Product sustainability has always been our priority when producing this kind of products. The premium aluminum oxide mineral used improves durability for longer-lasting life while the anti-loading coating enhances dust collection ability.
3M™ Stikit™ Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U is a high-quality, coated abrasive product designed for use with a random orbital sander. The discs are made of long-lasting aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a light A-weight paper backing suitable for lightweight sanding and finishing.
The open coat and load-resistant coating help prevent loading for a longer service life, making 3M™ Stikit™ Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U discs well-suited for general sanding and finishing applications on a variety of substrates, including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites, including fiberglass.
These discs come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside, which allows them to conveniently press on to the backup pad and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. A Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with a Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a random orbital sander.
Loading occurs when wood or paint dust clogs the surface of the disc and the abrasive points, which can quickly make the disc ineffective. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are spaced so that dust and debris can collect in the spaces rather than loading the disc. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade, for faster results.
3M™ Stikit™ discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs.
