PRODUCT FAQ
-
What is 3M™ Neoprene High Performance Contact Adhesive 1357 used for?
3M™ Neoprene High Performance Contact Adhesive 1357 is a fast-drying, high-strength adhesive that bonds to a variety of substrates, including wood, metal, rubber, and most plastics. It's commonly used in automotive and construction applications.
-
Is this adhesive suitable for outdoor use?
Yes! One of the key features of 3M™ Neoprene High Performance Contact Adhesive 1357 is its ability to withstand extreme temperatures and harsh weather conditions without losing its strength or flexibility. This makes it ideal for bonding materials that will be exposed to outdoor elements.
-
How long does this adhesive typically take to dry?
The drying time depends on several factors such as temperature, humidity levels and the thickness of the application but usually takes about one hour at room temperature. Nevertheless, depending on your application needs we recommend waiting overnight before use after bonding two surfaces together with this contact adhesive
3M™ Neoprene High Performance Contact Adhesive 1357 has been one of the most versatile solvent based adhesives for heavy duty surface laminations for over 60 years. This adhesive is capable of bonding to plastics and metals, including sheet metal and stainless steel. It provides excellent heat and water resistance, performing in temperatures up to 300°F/148°C. 3M™ Neoprene High Performance Contact Adhesive 1357 dries quickly while allowing time for positioning and adjustments without slowing down work processes.
Recommended Applications- Metal honeycomb composite panels
- Durable stainless steel to wood panels
- Woodworking
Whether it is being sprayed, brushed or rolled on, the application of 3M™ adhesive is a straightforward process. Start by carefully applying the adhesive to the surface until forming a uniform coat. Using an overlapping pattern, the application of one coat should prove sufficient for most surfaces. Effective adhesive coverage is accomplished when 80% or more of the surface is covered. Some substrates, including porous materials, may require an additional coat. In order to apply additional adhesive, simply wait until the existing adhesive becomes dry to the touch, and then proceed with the application of the additional coat.
