Constructed of resin-reinforced non-woven fiber, the Scotch-Brite SE Surface Conditioning Roll is designed to resist loading and minimize under-cutting or gouging of the workpiece. This roll offers high initial and extended rates of cut, while maintaining superior edge durability.

The heavy-duty non-woven fiber construction conforms well to varied surfaces, helping to preserve edges as well as irregular shapes or contours. Rolls with an LS designation are reinforced with a firm, stretch-resistant backing, making them ideal for use on a backstand or other off-hand equipment. Please note that items with an SPR designation must be special ordered.

Fast Cut, Long Life

The Scotch-Brite SE Surface Conditioning Roll is available in three grades of aluminum oxide abrasive: medium (MED), coarse (CRS), and fine (FIN). Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals due to its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is known for its toughness and durability, as it self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges during use. In contrast, traditional abrasives like garnet quickly wear down with use.

Thanks to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications, as well as sanding and finishing. It is suitable for a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
