Excellent for Use on Lightweight Coated Papers

The 3M Repulpable Double-Coated Splicing Tape 900B is specifically designed for use on lightweight coated papers, such as coated rotogravure and offset papers. It offers high initial adhesion and excellent heat resistance, making it ideal for various finished splice applications. It can even be used with "alkaline coatings" and stearate sizing.

Recommended Applications
  • Overlap finished splices in a paper mill
  • Transfer (pull through) splices in supercalenders

Prevents Broke Contamination from Non-Repulpable Material

The tape's repulpable construction eliminates the need to remove the splice from waste, preventing the contamination of paper mill broke with non-repulpable material. It meets or exceeds TAPPI UM-213, procedure A, which helps save labor costs and increases the value of waste paper.

All components of the adhesive and backing of this 2.5 mil (0.06mm) tape meet the requirements of indirect food additive regulations as described under 21 CFR 176.170 and 21 CFR 176.180. The tape features a lightweight tissue coated on both sides with a blue, repulpable adhesive on a repulpable easy-release paper liner. It offers excellent heat resistance up to 400F (204C) web temperature.
