Bubble Free Flexographic Plate Mounting

3M Cushion-Mount Plus Plate Mounting Tape B1520 is a high-quality tape designed for mounting photopolymer plates to flexographic printing cylinders and sleeves. It features the air-release plate-side technology of the 3M Comply Adhesive System, ensuring easy application with virtually no air bubbles and consistent print quality. This tape is made of a 0.020 inch (0.51 mm) double coated medium density purple foam, providing a secure bond between the flexographic photopolymer plate and the print sleeve or steel cylinder, preventing plate edge lifting during printing. Unlike tapes with reinforcement layers, this flexographic plate mounting tape can expand and contract on thin-walled sleeves, reducing the occurrence of air bubbles.

3M Cushion-Mount Plus Plate Mounting Tape B1520 is constructed with engineered acrylic adhesives specifically designed for 20 mil applications. The adhesive on the linered (plate) side of the tape is formulated for mounting photopolymer plates, while the adhesive on the non-linered (sleeve/cylinder) side is designed for mounting to flexographic printing cylinders or sleeves.

Easy Application with Reduced Air Entrapment:

Unlike flat or pebbled liners, B-Series liners are crosshatched, creating unique microchannels in the adhesive. These microchannels allow air to flow throughout the adhesive, resulting in virtually bubble-free plate mounting. The setup process is faster with smoother surfaces, leading to cleaner print quality and higher productivity. The adhesive maintains tight contact, reducing edge lifting.
