    The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Cloth Belt 997F, 36+ YF-weight, can safely operate at speeds of up to 6,000 SFPM (Surface Feet Per Minute).

  2. How durable is this cloth belt compared to others in its class?

    Our cubitron technology enables our products to last exceptionally longer than other ceramic abrasive products. This makes it ideal for tough grinding applications such as those found in metalworking industries.

  3. Is this product suitable for hand sanding or just machine sanding?

    These belts are designed specifically for use with machines like a backstand or bench-top grinder. Using them by hand may cause serious injuries and damage due to excessive force applied on limited surface area.

  4. Can I expect some level of flexibility while using these belts?

    Yes, our Film-lok backing allows the belts to flex and move easily which ensures consistent pressure distribution across the workpiece.

3M™ Cubitron™ II Cloth Belt 997F is an abrasive that has all the unique benefits of Cubitron™ II abrasives. It has a fast cut rate, long service life, less heat stress, and 3M Precision-Shaped Grain. The triangular-shaped 3M Precision-Shaped Grain is a revolutionary advancement in abrasive technology that slices through the substrate. This results in a cloth belt that lasts up to 2x as long as conventional abrasives. The ZF-weight backing on Cloth Belt 997F sets it apart.

Weighted Backing for High-Pressure Applications

ZF-weight backings are less flexible than other backings but heavier. The weightiness of the backing enhances the abrasive's durability. 3M chose a ZF-weight backing for this abrasive, so it would be able to withstand high-pressure grinding applications. It is especially suited for heavy-duty stock removal on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, and nickel alloys. It also features a grinding aid, which is an added coating that helps the abrasive run cooler against the workpiece.

Ideal for Robotic Grinding and Degating

For medium and high-pressure applications like robotic grinding, it's important to choose a premium abrasive belt like the fast-cutting, long-lasting 3M™ Cubitron™ II Cloth Belt 997F.
