3M Single Step Primer is designed specifically to promote the adhesion of urethane adhesive/sealants to windshields and other automotive glass applications. This one-part primer is ideal for touching up minor pinchweld scratches and can be used to prime encapsulated glass. It is also suitable as a blackout primer to help protect against UV rays. Apply with 3M Urethane Primer Daubers PN 08688.

    Each container of 3M™ Single Step Primer, 08681 contains 125 mL (4.22 fl oz) of the primer, and there are six containers per case.

  3. How do I use this product?

    Shake the container vigorously before use. Apply a small amount to the surface area and wait until it dries almost completely (about five minutes). Then apply your adhesive as directed by its instructions.

The Ideal Primer for Windshield Replacement

3M™ Single Step Primer is a one-part primer that is specifically designed for use during windshield replacement jobs. Its main function is to promote adhesion of urethane adhesives to glass. This versatile primer can be used for a range of windshield types, including those with pre-applied adhesive (PAAS) systems or PVC/encapsulated glass.

Unlike other primers, 3M™ Single Step Primer requires no activator and dries quickly. It is also excellent for corrosion protection when used for minor touch-ups on pinchweld scratches. Additionally, it features excellent UV resistance, making it ideal as a black-out primer for protecting urethanes and promoting long-lasting windshield installations.

3M™ Single Step Primer works well with all 3M™ Auto Glass Urethane Windshield Adhesives and is best applied with a 3M™ Urethane Primer Dauber PN 08688.
