Makes Removing Tape Liners an Easier Task
3M Tabbing Tape 5400, Clear, 0.10 mm is a heat-bondable film that exhibits excellent adhesion to the polyolefin release liner commonly found on most 3M Acrylic Plus Tapes and 3M Acrylic Foam Tapes. This ensures a reliable method of removing the liner in a production environment. The exposed surface of the tape has a matte finish, which enhances slip and handling characteristics.
For Use on a Variety of Tape Liners
Heat-activated tabbing tapes are suitable for use with all non-siliconized tape liners. However, for siliconized liners, the silicon layer must be mechanically removed before applying the heat-activated tabbing tape. We recommend using 3M applicators for this process.
Recommendations for Heat-Activated Tabbing Tapes
Before using this product, it is important to ensure that the surface is clean and dry, free from dirt particles, oil, silicon layers, or any other form of contamination. 3M Tabbing Tape 5400 is applied to the liner using thermal methods. The sealing temperature and sealing time should be adjusted based on the specific application and equipment being used. In laboratory conditions, a temperature range of 130 to 155 Celsius is typically used for approximately 0.8-1.2 seconds, with a pressure of around 30N/cm.
