    3M™ Perfect-It™ Gelcoat Heavy Cutting Compound is a gel coat rubbing compound designed for boats and other watercraft. It removes P800 grit sand scratches, heavy oxidation, and coarse swirl marks on fiberglass and gel coat surfaces.

  2. How do I use it?

    You can use it by applying the compound to the surface with a wool pad using a rotary polisher or buffer. Work in small sections, finishing each section before moving onto the next one.

  3. Is this product available in bulk packaging?

    Yes! The 3M™ Perfect-It™ Gelcoat Heavy Cutting Compound is available in a 5-gallon (18.9 L) container, sold as one per case for convenience.

The Perfect-it™ Gelcoat Heavy Cutting Compound is the first step towards achieving a truly professional gelcoat finish. It is 3M's fastest-cutting compound for heavily-oxidized gelcoat surfaces. The premium chemical and mineral formula quickly removes heavy oxidation, weathering, dulling, chalking, and scratches P800 or finer. This formula leaves a high gloss finish, and on many surfaces, a polishing step is not necessary before waxing. The compound also has a long wet time, allowing you to compound longer before you need new material. You use less product even in warmer climates, yet it handles well and does not clog on the buffing pad.
