How It Works
The 3M Dual Lock Reclosable Fastener works by flexing the stems and sliding the mushroom heads past each other when two pieces are pressed together. These fasteners provide high tensile strength but can be easily opened by cleaving or peeling open the closure. They can be aligned and re-aligned without the need for special tools, making them perfect for attaching components before they enter the final assembly plant, reducing the number of parts and assembly time.

Stem Densities
The Dual Lock fasteners are available in three different densities (stems per square inch): 170, 250, and 400. The Dual Lock fastener SJ3754 has 170 stems per square inch (25mm), offering the lightest hold. It can be mated to Type 170, 250, or 400, providing adjustable and proportional engagement and disengagement force to meet application requirements.
