PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is 3M™ Cold Shrink Insulator 8448-A-ATH-(M), 50/Case?

3M™ Cold Shrink Insulator 8448-A-ATH-(M) is an insulating material that helps prevent electrical arcing and flashovers. It provides reliable weather resistance, moisture sealing, and erosion protection.

  2. What are the benefits of using this product?

The main benefits of using the cold shrink insulators include ease of installation without special tools or heat, excellent protection against UV radiation and ozone, as well as a high degree of flexibility.

  3. Are there specific applications for which this product has been designed?

Yes. This cold shrink insulator is primarily designed to provide insulation at terminations in three-phase MV-HV cables up to 72 kV where space constraints make it difficult to use conventional methods like resin casting. However, it can be used in other demanding environments such as underground mines or offshore oil rigs too.
