Ideal Choice for Larger Repairs Where Strength is Essential
Bondo® Fiberglass Mat is the perfect solution for more severe repairs that require additional strength. It is slightly thicker than fiberglass cloth and is recommended for larger holes and cracks. When used with Bondo® Fiberglass Resin PN 401, 402, 404 (sold separately), the repairs become 100% waterproof. This makes the product ideal for various applications such as automobile, tub, shower, sink, pool, hot tub, and boat repair. Additionally, it can be used on surfaces like wood, concrete, and metal to provide extremely strong, durable, and waterproof repairs.

Strong, Reinforced Repairs
When combined with Bondo® Fiberglass Resin, Bondo® Fiberglass Mat reinforces repair areas and allows for repainting, ensuring that the repaired surface looks like the original. It is easy to cut and shape for customized repairs on automobiles. Fiberglass mat is often used in conjunction with fiberglass cloth and fiberglass resin for repairs. Once the patched area has cured, it can be sanded smoothly to achieve a level surface with the surrounding area. A fiberglass repair completed with resin and mat is fully compatible with being painted.

Benefits of Fiberglass Mat
Fiberglass mat is composed of short strands of fiberglass bonded together with a resin. In addition to its strength, fiberglass mat offers several other benefits. It does not absorb moisture and is non-flammable. The mat is also resistant to most chemicals, making it a reliable choice for various repair applications.

Repairs Customized to Your Needs
The highly pliable nature of this fiberglass mat allows it to conform to curved surfaces on automobiles. This flexibility enables customized automotive bodywork repairs on fenders, doors, hoods, and other sections of the car body.

Use During the Fill Stage of the 3M™ Body Repair System
Even small repairs can initially seem complex. To simplify the entire automotive body repair process, 3M’s Body Repair System divides it into four stages:

Stage 1 – Prepare.  This stage involves tasks such as pulling dents, removing paint and rust, and efficiently masking the area.

Stage 2 – Fill. During this stage, holes are patched with reinforced filler, and the filler is smoothed and shaped before painting.

Stage 3  Paint. This stage includes painting the area, as well as blending and smoothing primer and paint.

Stage 4 – Finish. The final stage ensures showroom-grade results by removing small defects, sealing, and polishing clear coats and other painted surfaces.

3M offers premium products such as abrasives, tapes, body fillers, and tools for every stage of the body repair process. This comprehensive system allows you to work easily, efficiently, and successfully across the entire process.
