PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is 3M Scotch-Weld Low Odor Acrylic Adhesive DP8810NS used for?

This adhesive is specifically formulated to bond plastics, metals, and composite assemblies where low odor and non-flammability are important.

  2. Is it safe to use this adhesive indoors without a ventilation system?

Yes! 3M Scotch-Weld Low Odor Acrylic Adhesive DP8810NS has been engineered to have minimal odors. Still, good general air movement throughout the work area can help disperse any odors that may be noticeable.

  3. What is a Duo-Pak?

The Duo-Pak cartridge is an all-in-one package which holds both parts of two-component adhesives in separate containers that when dispensed through a static mixing nozzle will combine into a uniform mix before they exit the nozzle tip.

  4. Can I store unused adhesive after opening one of the tubes from the Duo-Pak cartridge? How long does it last once opened and stored properly?

You bet you can! Simply remove cleaning plugs from Part A & B ports on each end when ready for re-use or storage between uses. Properly storing after application helps prolong life up until maximum allowable shelf time @ room temperature (12 months).

  5. Does this packaging size mean that I only need one case per project/usage?

Well – That depends on your usage! One case contains twelve cartridges; if you know how much adhesive you’ll need per Joining Application Ratio (JAR), then determine total cartridge amounts needed by dividing total applied volume specific dispensing application output rates by net contents quantity listed @70°F pour temperature = mL fluid ounces-then divide calculated amount by number of ml/cartridge=total cartridges required.

Product Description: 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Low Odor Acrylic Adhesive DP8810NS

When using a Duo-Pak (DP) size adhesive, rely on 3M dispensing equipment for convenient and accurate metering, mixing and dispensing.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Low Odor Acrylic Adhesive DP8810NS is a non-sag adhesive with excellent impact strength. It provides several benefits, including making work safer, faster, and more efficient. With a 10:1 mix ratio and a 10-minute work life, there's time to position substrates prior to adhesion. Once fully cured, it will reach 1,000 psi (7 MPa) of overlap shear strength in about 21 minutes, half the time of similar adhesives, increasing throughput and productivity while featuring high peel and impact performance.

Recommended Applications:
  • Metalworking such as HVAC, appliance, sporting goods, and specialty vehicles
  • Sign manufacturing such as panel to frame bonding, trim attachment, letter bonding, and frame assembly
  • Bonding plastics, composites and powder coats to metal
  • Typically used for larger parts where a longer open time is needed for assembly

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Low Odor Acrylic Adhesive DP8810NS Green and Gray have been recognized by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for use in electrical equipment and electric signs. Please review UL File QOQW2. MH17478 and Sign Components Manual (SAM) File E464624 for details.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Low Odor Acrylic Adhesive DP8810NS Gray should yield similar results as 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Low Odor Acrylic Adhesive DP8810NS Green, which has been tested for surface flammability, smoke, toxic gas generation, and caloric content per ASTM E162, ASTM E662, ASTM E1354, Bombardier SMP 800-C, and Boeing BSS 7239 test methods.

With lower odor and non-flammable properties, 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Low Odor Acrylic Adhesive DP8810NS contributes to a safer work environment compared to typical acrylic adhesives. Added non-sag properties assure the adhesive is applied exactly where you want it and won't migrate during the application or bonding processes. And the 12-month room temperature shelf life of the product simplifies inventory management.

Acrylic adhesives, often referred to as epoxy adhesives or epoxy glue, are two-part adhesives that provide excellent bond strength and durability. However, acrylic glues have several features that make them easier to use, including a much faster cure speed, higher tolerance for oily or unprepared bonding surfaces and the ability to bond a wide variety of materials, including nearly all plastics. Newer acrylic adhesive formulations are room temperature stable with a long shelf life.
