PRODUCT FAQ
-
What is the purpose of 3M Xtract™ Hookit™ Paper Disc 236U?
The primary use of 3M Xtract™ Hookit™ Paper Disc 236U is to sand and finish wood, automotive surfaces, metal works and similar materials.
-
How many discs come in each case of the product?
There are a total of 250 paper discs in one case.
-
What type of abrasive material does this sandpaper have?
This sandpaper uses ceramic aluminum oxide as an abrasive material which provides consistent cut throughout its lifespan.
-
Can I use these discs with any sander or do you need a specific tool for it to work?
These hook-and-loop fastening backed paper discs have been designed for optimum performance on both dual action and random orbital sanders.
-
Does the "C-weight" indicate the level of coarseness or moisture resistance this disc has?
The ‘C-Weight’ classification refers to the thickness and mass per unit area - indicating intermediate durability that gives enough support yet remains flexible to contour various shapes during usage
The 3M™ Hookit™ Clean Sanding Disc 236U features the 3M™ Hookit™ attachment system, which allows for fast and easy disc changes. This means that you can use the disc again and again for the extent of the abrasive life. The strong, C-weight paper backing on our 3M™ Hookit™ Clean Sanding Disc 236U supports aggressive sanding and minimizes edge wear.
These clean sanding discs are excellent for blending and finishing on aluminum and carbon steel, as well as woodworking applications for heavy and medium stock removal and finishing on hardwoods, softwoods, and composites. They also work well on primer, paint, sealers, topcoats, fiberglass, and plastics.
Sandpaper discs cut better and last longer when dust isn't loading the cutting surface of the abrasives. Reducing dust is easier than ever with 3M clean sanding discs. An open coat means the abrasive grains have space between them so that dust escapes through the spaces rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains. The load resistant coating allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the disc and hinder sanding ability.
3M's proprietary multi-hole pattern evacuates dust from the disc at a high rate. This hole design doesn't even require alignment of holes with the disc pad (which is attached to a random orbital sander and sold separately), making disc changes quick and simple. The 3M™ Hookit™ attachment system uses a hook and loop design that makes disc changes fast and easy. All of this adds up to improved productivity and reduced material consumption.
