PRODUCT FAQ
-
What is 3M™ Fastbond™ Contact Adhesive 30NF used for?
3M™ Fastbond™ Contact Adhesive 30NF is a versatile, high-strength adhesive that can be used for bonding lightweight materials like foam, felt, plastic, and more to themselves or to other substrates.
-
Can it be used on both porous and non-porous surfaces?
Yes! This adhesive works great on both porous and non-porous surfaces.
-
How long does the bond take to set up completely after application?
The bond strength continues to increase over time but in general you can expect excellent immediate bond as well as the option of a longer open-time if needed. A rough guide might be about an hour under normal conditions with full cure coming at around one day.
-
Is this safe for use outdoors or in high-temperature environments?
We wouldn’t recommend using our Fastbond Contact Adhesive outside due to potential exposure from moisture affecting the bond - which includes humidity. When applying make sure the environment remains clean and dry during curing. Additionally this product also has limitations when it comes into contact with temperatures above +120 degrees Fahrenheit (49 degrees Celsius).
-
Do I need any special equipment while working with this glue?
To apply larger amounts of adhesive consider spray equipment / pump which are ideal because they cover large areas quickly reducing labor time considerably but overall there isn’t anything too specific beyond your typical PPE requirements for handling solvents.
3M™ Fastbond™ Contact Adhesive 30NF is a powerful adhesive that creates a strong bond resistant to high heat. It has a bonding range of up to four hours and is ideal for decorative laminate applications where non-flammability and low VOCs are critical. This adhesive is post-formable and heat resistant, making it an optimal solution in settings where fire protection is of utmost concern.

3M™ Low Mist Contact Adhesive 30NF is formulated to be a fast-acting solution that delivers high immediate bonding strength with a long bonding range. This design offers a great solution for bonding porous substrates to porous or non-porous substrates with time for positioning and adjustments. With 3M™ Low Mist Contact Adhesive 30NF, you can leverage the advantages that come from an adhesive that is ready to meet the demands of many tough applications.
Applying Your AdhesiveWhether it is being sprayed, brushed or rolled on, the application of your 3M™ adhesive is a straightforward process. Start by carefully applying your adhesive to your surface until you've formed a uniform coat. Using an overlapping pattern, the application of one coat should prove sufficient for most surfaces. Effective adhesive coverage is accomplished when 80% or more of the surface is covered. Some substrates, including porous materials, may require an additional coat. In order to apply additional adhesive, simply wait until the existing adhesive becomes dry to the touch, and then proceed with the application of the additional coat.
