  1. What is 3M™ Smoke and Sound Sealant SS 100?

    It's a white sealant designed for sealing perimeter joints in fire-rated frames, as well as other construction gaps and openings where sound or smoke control is required.

  2. Is it easy to apply?

    Yes! The sealant comes in soft, flexible sausage packs that can be easily inserted into standard caulking guns for precise application. Its low VOC formula make applying the sealant safe and easy too!

  3. How much coverage does one sausage pack provide?

    One 20 fl oz sausage has enough sealant to treat around 8 linear feet of joint (at a depth and width of approximately half an inch).

  4. Does this product meet any safety standards?

    Absolutely! Our firestop products are tested to help control the spread of fire, smoke, heat, and toxic gases while offering excellent adhesion properties. This particular product meets ASTM E-814 UL1479 up to four hours pedestal-mounted rated systems test criteria.
