3M Scotchcast Electrical Resin 260 is a 1 part, powder resin used for coating flat surfaces, corners and high points. This general purpose epoxy based, powder resin has a very low viscosity property, which makes it easy to infuse on any surface. The resin melts when it's heated, it flows to a controlled extent and then cures, bonding to the surface in a uniform, thick coating.
- Has 12 to 16-second gel time at 380 °F (193 °C)
- Useful for moisture-proofing and insulating armatures, stators, buss bars and toroid cores
- Withstands temperatures of 356 °F (180 °C)
- Compatible with electrostatic spray, fluid bed dip and venturi spray
- Heat-, chemical- and moisture-resistant
- UL Listed, EIS Approved and RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant

PRODUCT FAQ
-
What is 3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Resin 260?
It is an electrical-grade resin developed to insulate, jacket, and seal electrical harnesses and connectors exposed to environmental hazards.
-
How much does the resin weigh?
The resin comes in a drum containing 44.1 pounds (20 kg) of material.
-
What is CG GR-45?
CG GR-45 refers to the hardness level of the cured product as per ASTM D2240 standards for Shore grinders. This specific formula provides good hydrophobic properties while resisting water infiltration and maintaining resistance values over time.
-
Can you tell me why I should choose this product over other resins on the market?
: Our customers have rated our Scotchcast resins highly because it has been designed not just to resist abrasion but also withstand moisture intrusion whilst providing exceptional static bonds between materials used.
3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Resin 260 has a low gel point rating to ensure a quick curing process. The resin is made from a fusion blend process which offers the components necessary to provide a complete cure and meet required performance properties.
It provides a continuous, tough moisture and chemical resistant dielectric coating to a variety of substrates. This makes it ideal for applications that require excellent thermal shock and mechanical shock resistance. Additionally, its high dielectric strength offers excellent electrical insulating property to the resin, making it an ideal insulator for creating a barrier between two conductors.
