PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is 3M™ Hot Melt Adhesive 3792LMPG made of?

The 3M™ Hot Melt Adhesive 3792LMPG is a synthetic rubber and resin combination that offers excellent bonding strength.

  2. Can this adhesive be used on different materials?

Yes, the 3M™ Hot Melt Adhesive 3792LMPG can be used on a variety of surfaces including paper, most plastics, fabrics, foam insulation and much more.

  3. Is it easy to use?

Absolutely! The adhesive melts quickly and smoothly (in just under one minute) when applied with a hot melt glue gun. It also cools rapidly resulting in fast assembly line speeds.

  4. What are some potential benefits to using this product rather than other adhesives?

. Compared to solvent-based adhesives or water-based adhesives which tend to shrink during drying time causing problems like creases or bubbles upon completion; our product produces strong bonds without additional thermal stresses especially while working with temperature sensitive substrates such as polystyrene foams.

  5. . Can I customize the bond speed for my specific application needs?

. Of course you can! This adhesive provides both high heat resistance for long-lasting durability along with adjustable set times ranging from seconds all the way up to five minutes depending on your working temperatures/application requirements by customizing the dispensing tip nozzle morphology etc..

Understanding Hot Melt Adhesives

Hot melt adhesives, also known as glue sticks, are liquefied thermoplastic adhesives available in both low and high-temperature versions. Low temperature hot melt adhesives are applied at 250ºF / 121ºC temperatures, which makes them ideal for bonding electronics, plastics, cloth and other heat sensitive materials. High temperature hot melt adhesives are applied at 380ºF / 193ºC and produce a stronger bond than the low temperature hot melts.

Melted adhesive is extruded through a nozzle using a 3M Hot Melt Applicator by either pneumatic pressure, a mechanical trigger mechanism, or with pressure applied directly on the stick. Different nozzles can be used to apply thin, wide strips or narrow, thicker beads. Hot melt adhesive generally sets quickly, ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the adhesive formulation.
