If wax builds up along the film edges, it can be easily removed when dry using a soft cloth, such as the 3M Microfiber Detail Cloth (39016). It is important to avoid using waxes containing dyes or those not recommended for urethanes. Additionally, abrasive polishes and rubbing compounds should not be used.
  • How is 3M Door Edge Protection Film removed?
    If you wish to remove the film, simply lift a corner and pull it off the vehicle surface at a 90-degree angle. In cases where the film has been present for a long time or if the film and vehicle are cold, you can use a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive, making removal easier. Any remaining adhesive can be eliminated using 3M Adhesive Remover (3M Part #03618) following the package directions.
