3M™ Fire Barrier Sealant CP 25WB+ is used to seal penetrations and control joints in fire-rated walls and floors. It helps prevent the spread of flames, smoke, and toxic gases.
How large a hole can I fill with this product?

This fire barrier sealant can be used to fill holes up to 3 inches in diameter. If the hole is larger than that, it's recommended you use an appropriate mechanical penetrating firestop device.
Can this sealant be painted over after application?

Yes! The Red color of this specific version offers easy identification during inspections but if desired, once cured (about a week), It can be painted over as well.
What type of testing standards does this product meet?

-This product has been tested according to ASTM E814 (UL1479) standard for up to four hours of rated fire protection.-Also meets the intent requirements of LEED® Version 4 or newer.

3M Fire Barrier Sealant CP 25WB+ is a one-component, latex-based, intumescent sealant that dries to form a monolithic firestop seal. This sealant also acts as a barrier to airborne sound transmission. As penetrants are exposed to fire, the intumescent property of this material allows the sealant to expand and help maintain a firestop penetration seal for up to 4 hours. This sealant is designed to help control the spread of fire, smoke and noxious gases before, during and after exposure to a fire when installed in accordance with a listed through-penetration or fire-resistive joint assembly system (STC-Rating of 54 when tested in a STC 54-rated wall assembly).

3M Fire Barrier Sealant CP 25WB+ is a firestop sealant that is used to seal openings and penetrations passing through fire-rated floor, floor/ceiling or wall assemblies and other fire-rated interior building construction. This halogen-free sealant is capable of expanding a minimum of 3 times its dried volume when exposed to temperatures above 1000°F (538°C). The sealant is engineered to be sag-resistant and exhibit strong adhesion to a full range of construction substrates and penetrants. It can be applied with conventional caulking equipment and offers an excellent caulk rate - no mixing is required. Additionally, this water-based sealant is paintable as well as re-enterable and repairable, offering easy application and clean-up.
