Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning Discs provide a more compact structure of non-woven fibers compared to Buff & Blend products. These discs feature a woven fabric (scrim) embedded in the nylon structure, which adds strength and durability. This unique design extends the disc's lifespan and allows for prolonged use on ferrous materials or steel. When high contact pressure and stock removal are required, this is the ideal material to use.
Mixed MaterialsStandard Abrasives Surface Conditioning FE Discs are constructed with a tough and flexible nylon mesh that conforms to any contoured surface. This mesh is infused with aluminum oxide abrasive, making it a versatile and cost-effective choice. Aluminum oxide discs excel in blending, deburring, and cutting applications on ferrous metals and composites. The premium grain used in these discs has higher fracture strength, ensuring that the mineral fragments and renews more readily. They are available in a range of grades from Very Fine to Extra Coarse.
Strong Backing for Better PerformanceTo achieve optimal results, it is recommended to use a Standard Abrasives brand holder pad in conjunction with the surface conditioning discs. Tests have demonstrated that when used together, these discs and holder pads offer superior durability and performance. The holder pads also ensure that pressure is evenly applied across the entire disc, including the edges.
