PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is the Scotch-Brite™ High Resolution PC Cleaning Brush made of?

The HR-PC Cleaning Brush is made of very densely packed, super-fine microfiber bristles that clean your computer screen without causing damage.

  2. Can this cleaning brush be used on other electronics besides a computer monitor?

Absolutely! While it's specifically designed for use on high-resolution monitors and screens, you can safely use it on your laptop screen or other delicate surfaces in need of gentle but effective cleaning.

  3. Is it easy to clean after using this brush?

Yes, definitely. Since the bristles are so fine, dust and dirt doesn't get trapped as easily compared to some brushes with coarser fibers. This means you can just tap out any debris that has accumulated, run it under some water with soap if necessary and let dry completely before next use!

  4. How long will one brush last?

With proper care and regular cleaning this product can last up to 6 months depending on usage frequency.

Tackling Printed Circuit Boards

Scotch-Brite™ High Resolution Printed Circuit Cleaning Brushes are designed to clean copper laminates for the production of fine-line circuitry. The brush removes unwanted contaminants and prepares the printed circuit board for the uniform adhesion of solder mask and solder resist. The abrasive is made by combining mineral with non-woven nylon fibers and resin, which makes it strong yet responsive. The uniform scratch pattern helps with coating adhesion and appearance.

Consumer demand for electronic devices with printed circuit boards has made protecting these workpieces against soils, contaminants, and moisture even more important. One of the ways operators protect circuit boards is by cleaning them and applying coatings that will protect them from wear. However, messy and time-consuming methods requiring various compounds are often used. Scotch-Brite™ High Resolution Printed Circuit Cleaning Brushes offer an alternative solution to these chemicals as part of a mechanical cleaning system. They also help reduce hazardous waste treatment systems required for pumice slurry or chemical cleaning systems.

Recommended Applications

Scotch-Brite™ High Resolution PC Cleaning Brushes are composed of tightly compressed, resin-bonded Scotch-Brite™ discs. The construction provides consistent, aggressive cleaning action for various applications, including:

  • Cleaning heavy oxide from laminates
  • Cleaning prior to dry film resist and solder mask
  • Surface conditioning on drilled or punched holes

Scotch-Brite™ printed circuit brushes provide proper surface conditioning for all phases of PC board production from heavy oxide removal to final board brightening. They help produce the best quality boards while contributing to lower production costs. Additionally, they're available in a range of grades and minerals to help operators find the right brush for their unique project needs.

The Many Benefits of Open Web Abrasives

Non-woven technology makes our Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives unique. A combination of fiber strands, resin, and abrasive mineral forms a thick, open web. The spring-like nature of the fibers responds to contours and effectively removes unwanted burrs, soils, and contaminants while maintaining the geometry of the workpiece, which in turn reduces rework and boosts productivity. Gaps in the web allow swarf to escape, so debris does not clog the mineral. Fibers in the web continually break down with use to reveal fresh mineral for exceptional consistency, superior cut performance, and extremely long service life.

Scotch-Brite™ products not only enhance productivity but also increase operator safety by reducing the need for cleaning chemicals and pastes and replacing wire brushes that can break off and cause injury. From aesthetic finishing to weld blending, deburring, and more, Scotch-Brite abrasives work fast and deliver consistent results, part after part.
