The Scotch-Brite™ 7448 PRO Disc material is designed to reduce surface preparation time, whether it's for painting in the automotive industry or scuff sanding furniture or cabinetry. The 3M™ fiber coating technology produces an efficient cut and consistent scratch, which reduces the time it takes to scuff, prep, or finish parts. The abrasive particles are tightly graded, providing consistent and uniform results throughout the life of the disc. This disc features ultra-fine grade silicon carbide abrasives that cut fast, leaving a clean and smoothly finished surface.
Versatile 7448 PRO Replaces Steel WoolThe Scotch-Brite™ 7448 PRO Disc is suitable for use on a wide variety of materials, such as wood, metal, plastics, ceramics, porcelain, glass, rubber, or composites. Its performance is comparable to steel wool grade 00. However, unlike steel wool, this disc won't rust after use or create fine metal splinters. It can be used for cleaning, finishing, blending, and deburring, or for scuffing before applying paint and paint primers. It also cleans upholstery and chrome. This versatile product is effective in wet or dry environments and can be rinsed and used over and over again.
Sharp, Fast Cut and Fine FinishThis gray disc is filled with ultra-fine silicon carbide abrasive mineral, a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a smoother finish.
The Scotch-Brite PRO AdvantageScotch-Brite™ PRO is a unique surface conditioning product with abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon fibers. The breakthrough fiber coating technology allows Scotch-Brite™ PRO abrasive products to cut faster and produce a more consistent scratch than competitive non-woven abrasive products, reducing the time and effort it takes to finish parts. Combining abrasives with the fibers gives you an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material is load-resistant and keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the nylon fibers.
