Tough Woven Fabric

Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning Discs offer a more compact structure of non-woven fibers compared to Buff & Blend products. These discs feature a woven fabric (scrim) embedded in the nylon structure, providing added strength and durability. This unique design extends the lifespan of the disc, making it ideal for use on ferrous materials or steel. When high contact pressure and stock removal are required, this is the best material to use.

Mixed Materials

Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning FE Discs are constructed with a tough and flexible nylon mesh that conforms to any contoured surface. This mesh is infused with aluminum oxide abrasive, making it a versatile and cost-effective choice. Aluminum oxide discs are perfect for operators who need a disc that can handle a variety of tasks, including blending and deburring. They are particularly effective for applications involving ferrous metals and composites. The premium grain used in these discs has a higher fracture strength, allowing the mineral to fragment and renew more easily. They are available in grades ranging from Very Fine to Extra Coarse.

Strong Backing for Better Performance

To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to use a Standard Abrasives brand holder pad in conjunction with the surface conditioning discs. Tests have demonstrated that when used with the Standard Abrasives holder pad, these discs exhibit greater durability and performance. Additionally, the holder pads ensure that pressure is evenly applied across the entire disc, including the edges.
