PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is a 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 777F?

The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 777F is a high-quality abrasive disc that has excellent cut rates. It's made with aluminum oxide abrasive that provides increased durability and stock removal.

  2. What makes the 50 Y-weight different from other weights of this product?

The difference between various weight classifications for the 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc lies in how dense or open the backing is. Heavier weights tend to be more durable than lighter ones, making them ideal for heavy-duty applications like grinding or deburring.

  3. Can you explain what "NH" means when referring to its size?

NH stands for "no hole," which means these discs are made without any pre-drilled holes. This allows you to use them on back-up pads of almost any machine size, as well as custom drill your own holes so it matches up accurately with your sander’s dust collection system.

  4. How can I tell if Die #1200B would work best for my project?

:The ”die” code indicates how many individual discs are included per roll – in this case one hundred (100) die-cut discs total are included in ten (10) full sheets each measuring at least twelve (12) inches x twelve-inch sheets). So we recommend having an idea about how much surface area you want to cover, and then choosing accordingly based on your needs.

  5. Q:Are there specific guidelines I should follow while using it?

A:Using safety glasses, face shields and additional personal protective equipment might be needed depending upon individual applications; Protecting exposed skin from sparks generated by tool operation may also be advisable.• Check local regulations regarding methods for disposing of waste materials.• Inspect all products before using ensuring they have not been damaged• Read all directions before starting blending process

3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 777F comes with heavyweight cloth backing to support high-pressure applications and work well on heat-sensitive metals. To protect heat sensitive alloys like stainless steel, nickel alloys and cobalt alloys, a grinding aid on the 777F cloth disc reduces running temperatures, and the abrasive is bonded to the backing with resin to maintain disc durability under high heat and pressure. 777F discs are particularly used on stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings.

The high strength pressure sensitive adhesive attachment system is a good choice for high heat and severe disc sanding applications. Convenient liners reduce contamination of the adhesive, maximizing adherence to the disc pad. The 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain is a ceramic mineral designed using a 3M process to enhance toughness and hardness of the grain. For increased performance, 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 777F products feature aluminum oxide blended with 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain for one of the hardest, longest-lasting abrasives available.

Perfect for moderate to heavy stock removal, ceramic abrasives are engineered to cut fast and handle intense heat and stress applications. Ceramic aluminum oxide blend surpasses aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability and makes the 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 777F an excellent choice for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. The 3M brand, across thousands of products, represents consistency, superior quality, and value.
