PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What makes 3M™ Tin-Plated Copper Foil EMI Shielding Tape different from regular adhesive tape?

3M™ Tin-Plated Copper Foil EMI Shielding Tape is specifically designed to shield electronic devices and components from electromagnetic interference (EMI). It has a thin layer of conductive tin-plated copper foil that creates a barrier against EMI.

  2. Can this tape be used in harsh environments?

Yes, it can. The tape has excellent resistance to moisture, chemicals, and heat. This makes it ideal for use in harsh industrial environments where electronics are exposed to extreme conditions.

  3. Is the tape easy to apply and remove without leaving residue?

Yes, absolutely. The tape applies easily like any other adhesive tape and will not leave behind any residue after removal.

  4. How much tape comes in each roll of 3M™ Tin-Plated Copper Foil EMI Shielding Tape?

Each roll contains 2 inches by 18 yards of shielding tape on a standard sized paper core of 3 inches. There are five rolls per case.

  5. Can I buy smaller quantities or just one roll instead of a whole case?

Yes, you can purchase individual rolls if needed. Please contact your local authorized dealer or distributor for more information on the availability and pricing for individual rolls.

3M™ EMI Shielding Tape 1183 has a deadsoft, copper foil backing with a pressure sensitive, electrically conductive, acrylic adhesive that ensures firm adherence.

This tape is designed for grounding and EMI shielding in equipment, components and shielded rooms. It has tin plating, which resists oxidation and facilitates soldering to the backing. The conductive particles in the adhesive offer low resistance between the substrate and the backing.

This flame retardant tape can withstand a wide temperature range of 40 to 266 °F (40 to 130 °C). It is UL Listed and RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant.
