This product has a 2.0 mil metalized polyester backing that provides a glossy visual appearance. In addition to its aesthetic appeal, the backing also offers functional properties such as low static discharge, low diffusivity, and high tensile strength. This means that the product is able to effectively prevent the buildup of static electricity, minimize the spread of particles, and withstand high levels of tension without tearing or breaking. The low outgassing acrylic adhesive used in this product is designed to provide excellent chemical resistance and high shear strength. This means that the adhesive is able to withstand exposure to various chemicals without deteriorating, and it is able to maintain a strong bond even under significant stress. Additionally, the adhesive offers a permanent level of adhesion to a variety of substrate materials, ensuring that the product stays securely in place. Furthermore, the adhesive has been further enhanced to virtually eliminate measurable organic acid from the outgassing signature. This means that the product emits minimal organic acid, reducing the risk of contamination or damage to sensitive components or surfaces. To complete the construction of this product, 3M has developed a proprietary Non-Silicone / Non-Fluorine Polyester Liner 5977. This liner is specifically designed to provide a protective barrier between the adhesive and the backing, ensuring that the product remains in optimal condition during storage and transportation.
