    The lifespan of each microfinishing film belt will vary depending on several factors such as the type of material being finished, how aggressive or gentle you use it, etc., but typically these belts can last longer than traditional abrasives due to their durability when compared.

    Yes - we recommend that you store these abrasive belts vertically either in your shop rack or hanging up so that they remain clean & dust-free until ready for use.. In addition, keep them away from extremes in temperature or humidity which could cause degradation over time.

Flexible Design

3M™ Microfinishing Film Belt 372L is designed with a closed coat abrasive surface that enhances efficiency and produces a finer finish. The polyester film backing is flexible, allowing for a consistent finish over contours. It also offers greater tear-resistance than comparable paper products, making it ideal for high-production environments. This film is available in a range of micron grades for complete multi-step sanding and finishing.

Aluminum Oxide Abrasive

The 3M™ Microfinishing Film Belt 372L features precision, micron-graded aluminum oxide, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals due to its fast cut-rate and fine finish. This mineral is tough and durable, self-fracturing to expose fresh cutting edges. Its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength make it widely used for sanding and finishing applications.

Heat Resistant with Closed Construction

The 372L belt uses a resin bonding that is specially designed to resist thermal and chemical deterioration that can occur during sanding. This bond is tough and excellent for precision work on hard and soft surfaces, allowing for faster sanding and a higher cut rate. The closed-coat construction of the belt means mineral grains cover 100% of the backing, so the abrasive scratches all of the surface that it comes in contact with. It's commonly used on surfaces where loading is less of a problem, making it a good match for hard metals.
