The Standard Abrasives Light Deburring Wheel finishes and deburrs parts with critical tolerances and may be used on automated equipment, straight shaft stationary and portable tools as well as feed-through machines.
- Great for light deburring, blending machine and belt marks and finishing small parts
- Soft density enables the abrasive to conform to the substrate, which prevents undercutting and gouging
- The Light Deburring Wheel has a fast finish rate that requires less effort than competitive wheels
- Wheel is non-metallic, so it won’t contaminate the work piece
- Maintains a smear resistant finish

PRODUCT FAQ
-
What material can the 3M Standard Abrasives™ LDW Wheel be used on?
The LDW Wheel is suitable for use on various metals including stainless steel, inconel and carbon steel.
-
Can this wheel handle heavy-duty applications?
Yes, it can. Whether you are removing welds or blending edges, its tough construction ensures that it provides consistent results even when subjected to heavy workload.
-
Is this wheel durable enough for long-term use?
Absolutely. It comes with a strong bond that ensures the abrasive mineral remains attached to the wheel surface throughout its lifespan, thereby giving you an efficient cutting rate in each grinding operation over time.
-
Does the package come with enough units for large-scale grinding jobs?
Yes. Each package contains three wheels which will give you adequate stock to complete your projects efficiently without having to reorder frequently.
Choosing High vs. Low Densities
The Standard Abrasives™ Light Deburring Wheel is made with a fine grade silicon carbide mineral. These wheels come in varying densities, ranging from 6 to 8. Higher density wheels are more durable and have a longer service life. On the other hand, lower density wheels have a softer feel, which allows them to be more flexible and conform to the substrate. Light deburring wheels are less aggressive and provide a finer finish compared to other convolute wheels.
Smear-Resistant for A Brighter Finish
The Light Deburring Wheel is a convolute wheel, which means it must be run in one direction as indicated by the arrow on the side of the wheel. The abrasive web, made with resin and silicon carbide mineral, is wound around the wheel's core. The silicon carbide mineral is bonded with a smear-resistant resin that will not smudge or stain the substrate. These attributes contribute to a cleaner, brighter finish on the substrate. The Light Deburring Wheel is an excellent starting point for light blending, polishing, and deburring applications. It is a trusted tool for achieving a fine finish on the workpiece.
