PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is the function of 3M™ Embossed Tin-Plated Copper Foil EMI Shielding Tape 1345?

The primary purpose of this product is to shield electronics from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI).

  2. Is it easy to apply this tape?

Yes, it's very simple. The embossed tin-plated copper foil backing makes it easy to be cut and easily adheres to various substrates including plastics.

  3. Can I use this tape in harsh environments?

Absolutely! This tape has great resistance against chemicals, moisture, abrasion, and temperature changes ranging from -40°F (-40°C) to as high as 266°F (130°C), making it ideal for even the toughest environments.

  4. How long does a typical roll last?

One roll contains up to 18 yards of tape with a standard three-inch core diameter. Depending on how often you'll need it and how much you'll use per application, each roll can last for quite a while. However we do offer them in cases with five rolls if more quantity is needed.

3M™ EMI Shielding Tape 1345 has an embossed, deadsoft, copper foil backing with a pressure sensitive, acrylic adhesive that ensures firm adherence. The tin plated coating on both sides of the tape's foil backing offers outstanding solderability and is resistant to oxidation and corrosion.

The copper foil backing of the tape offers excellent resistance against oxidation and discoloration. Contact between the backing and the application substrate is established when the embossed backing edges cut through the adhesive layer. The tape can withstand a wide temperature range of -40 to 266 °F (-40 to 130 °C).

This flame retardant tape is designed for grounding and EMI shielding in equipment, components, and shielded rooms. It is UL Listed and RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant.
