Moderately Aggressive for Lighter-Weight Applications
Standard Abrasives™ Buff and Blend Circle Buff GP is a versatile product suitable for general-duty industrial applications. It has the flexibility to reach into tubing or other contoured parts. Among the four Standard Abrasives™ Buff and Blend materials, the GP material is the least aggressive. It can be used to remove light oxidation, blend minor surface imperfections, clean surfaces prior to coatings, remove small burrs, and perform basic equipment cleanup. The wheel is spongy and responsive due to its non-woven construction, allowing it to conform to workpiece contours, radii, and internal diameters. The Circle Buff can be run wet or dry. For higher-pressure applications, try using a Standard Abrasives™ Buff and Blend HP or HS Product.
1, 2 or 3-Ply Options Offer a Range of Strength and Flexibility
Standard Abrasives™ Buff and Blend Circle Buffs are available in 1-ply, 2-ply, and 3-ply options with diameters ranging from 2-5". The 1-ply circle buff is the most flexible and is ideal for reaching into tubing and other tight spaces. The 2-ply option provides added stiffness, while the 3-ply circle buff is the best choice when strength is desired over flexibility. The 2" buffs have an 8-32 eyelet, while the 3-5" buffs have a 1/4-20 eyelet.
The Many Benefits of Standard Abrasives™ Non-Woven Products
Standard Abrasives™ Buff and Blend non-woven products offer many benefits. All Buff and Blend products have an open web, which combines abrasive mineral and non-woven nylon fibers with a resin-reinforced bond. The resin bond securely anchors mineral to the fibers, making for a strong, durable abrasive. Gaps between fibers allow swarf to escape, so the abrasive does not get clogged with debris. Minimizing swarf and debris prolongs abrasive service life and keeps minerals cutting sharper for longer. Nylon fibers won't splinter during grinding, offering a good alternative to steel wool. Moreover, as the fibers break down and fresh mineral is exposed, it reduces the likelihood of the disc smearing the surface. Standard Abrasives™ Buff and Blend products deliver a consistent cut and finish - part after part.
