configurations (for non-shielded cable) using split bolts, H tap or C tap compression connectors.

    The 3M™ Scotchcast™ Multi-Mold Resin Splice Kit 85-14 is used to splice or repair copper cables rated up to 1000 volts.

  2. How many strands can these splices accommodate?

    These splices are designed for use with two wires of the same gauge that have a maximum of nineteen strands each (19 x 2/0 AWG).

  3. Are there any special tools needed to install this kit?

    No, there are no special tools required. All necessary components, such as resin, gloves, and molds, are included in the kit – just bring scissors and a stir stick.

  4. How long does it take for the resin to cure after installation?

    The resin cures within an hour of being applied. After six hours post-installation at room temperature you should be able to apply electrical current.

3M™ Scotchcast™ Multi Mold Resin Splice Kit 85 Series includes a flexible film plastic mold, electrical insulating resin 2104, pressure sensitive adhesive film sealing strip and a comprehensive instruction booklet.

The kit is designed to provide inline, wye, X, butt and dead end splice configurations using split bolts, H tap or C tap compression connectors. The flexible film plastic mold has a built-in porous spacer web to ensure the proper thickness of insulating compound.

This splice kit is perfect for direct burial applications, underground systems, joining of cable reel ends, cable failures and dig ins. It is also RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant‎.
