When Being Tacky is Good

Introducing 3M Water Activated Paper Tape 6147, the perfect solution for sealing corrugated boxes. This tape features a 3-way fiber glass reinforcement and a high-tack, water activated adhesive, ensuring that your boxes stay securely sealed until they are ready to be opened. The fiber glass reinforcement consists of lengthwise threads that are laced with a diamond cross-machine pattern. These threads are made of 75 Denier Fiberglass at 33/64" and are spaced in a ratio of 2-1-1-1-2. Machine threads are then crossed using 50 Denier Fiberglass, completing the diamond pattern with slightly less than 1-1/4" spacing between threads. This reinforced construction, combined with the use of virgin kraft paper, provides exceptional strength and durability throughout the shipping, handling, and storage process.

3M Water Activated Paper Tape 6147 is 3" wide and 8.5 mil thick, and it is available in both natural and white colors. It is recommended for sealing packages weighing a maximum of 45 lbs. The optimal method for securing a box is to form two C clips on each carton top and bottom. When activated with water, this tape easily conforms to carton edges and corners, forming secure and tamper-evident C clip and I clip seals. The water-activated adhesive bonds with the fiberboard material of corrugated cartons, creating a strong and durable seal that can withstand even the toughest handling and shipping scenarios. This tape is also suitable for use on recycled cartons and non-unitized loads, making it a versatile choice for various industries and applications.
