Scotch-Brite Multi-Finishing Wheel is a convolute-constructed wheel that provides cleaning and final finishing for stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and other metals. The combination of mineral grades and soft density make the wheel well suited for final finishing applications where a high degree of conformability and less density are needed.
- FINISHING MADE EASY: Well suited for final finishing applications and producing uniform, appealing, and bright finishes on various metals
- CONFORMABLE NONWOVEN WEB: Scotch-Brite™ nonwoven synthetic fiber and abrasive mineral forms a web that is open, tough, conformable, and long-lasting
- MADE FOR METAL: Provides cleaning and final finishing for stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and other metals
- CENTER HOLE ATTACHMENT: Utilize flanging or adaptors to adjust the center hole to a smaller size that fit your needs
- THE RIGHT MINERAL FOR THE JOB: This wheel utilizes silicon carbide, a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as finishing and cleaning
- RELIABLE RESULTS: Highly conformable construction enables the finishing of large areas to a uniform and appealing finish

PRODUCT FAQ
-
What is the Scotch-Brite™ Multi-Finishing Wheel used for?
The Scotch-Brite™ Multi-Finishing Wheel, MU-WL, 2S Medium, is used to achieve a variety of finishes on metal surfaces without producing excess heat or undercutting.
-
Can I use this finishing wheel with any type of equipment?
This finishing wheel can be attached to a bench grinder, pedestal grinder, or straight shaft grinder using a 3M™ Clamp-on Attachment (sold separately).
-
How long does the wheel last and how often should it be replaced?
The lifespan of the wheel varies based on usage but generally lasts longer than conventional abrasive products. To ensure optimal performance and safety it's recommended to replace them as they become worn.
-
Is this product eco-friendly?
Yes. It’s made from non-woven fibers so there is no need for coolants which means less waste compared with traditional grinding processes that create coolant-laden swarf. Additionally, the non-woven construction contributes towards reducing dust and material residue during use saving additional resources in cleaning up at end-of-shift operations
The Scotch-Brite™ Multi-Finishing Wheel is an excellent choice for achieving #3 or #4 finishes on stainless steel and other metals on flat, contoured, and curved surfaces. The wheel is designed with an open-web construction that allows it to run cool and resist loading, reducing the risk of part discoloration and warping while extending the wheel's lifespan. The Multi-Finishing Wheel is available in coarse, medium, and fine grade abrasive.
The Multi-Finishing Wheel uses silicon carbide abrasive, which is a synthetic mineral that is incredibly sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. Although it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.
Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives are unique surface conditioning products that incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers. This combination creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the product's lifespan. The material used in the Multi-Finishing Wheel runs cool and is load-resistant, which keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers.
