-
What is the size and quantity of the 3M™ Stikit™ Film Disc Roll 360L, P600, 6 in x NH, Die 600Z?
The size of each disc roll is 6 inches by "NH" or no hole. Each roll contains a total of 125 discs. There are four rolls that come in one case.
-
What type of sanders can I use these film discs with?
The Stikit™ Film Discs are designed to work well with random orbital sanders (ROS) for finishing applications such as scuff sanding before painting or applying coatings.
-
Is this product easy to use?
Yes! One advantage to our Stikit™ system is its ease-of-use. Simply attach the adhesive-backed film disc onto your ROS pad and you're ready to go – no special tools required! Plus, our adhesive-release liners make it quick and simple when it's time for a sheet change – just peel, stick & go
3M™ Stikit™ Film Disc Roll 360L is a durable and reliable sandpaper disc that is perfect for high-production environments. The sturdy film backing provides excellent resistance to edge tearing, making it last longer than discs with standard A-weight paper backings. The film backing also provides a consistent finish, making it ideal for spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects, or sanding automotive primer.
To reduce loading on the disc, the disc has open coat construction without a load-resistant stearate coating. The Stikit adhesive on the backing conveniently attaches the disc to a low-profile 3M™ Stikit™ Disc Pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander. The 360L comes in a range of grades for various applications from fine sanding to finishing.
Sandpaper discs cut better and last longer when dust isn't loading the cutting surface of the abrasives. An open coat means the abrasive grains have space between them so that sanding debris collects in the spaces rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains. This feature has the added advantage of producing a more aggressive cut.
The 360L features an aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
The 3M™ Stikit™ system eliminates the time-consuming task of applying adhesive to the disc backing. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so that attaching them to the disc pad is as simple as pressing on a sticker. And because the adhesive is pressure sensitive, the disc can be peeled off of the disc pad just as easily, leaving a clean surface for the next disc. A Stikit disc must be pressed onto a Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
