3M Stikit Low Profile Abrasive Disc Back-up Pad provides secure attachment for a 3M Stikit Disc (sold separately) on a random orbital sander or other rotary tool. This lightweight, shock-resistant backup pad is constructed of firm density foam for sanding flat surfaces and has a tapered edge for applications where some flexibility is needed.

    Yes! The Stikit system uses pressure-sensitive adhesive to easily attach and remove abrasive discs from this pad.

    No special cleaning is needed – simply use compressed air or a brush to clean out dust or debris between uses.

  5. Will this fit my existing equipment setup?

    This low profile pad works with most random orbital sanders that have standard vacuum hole configurations. It also has an easy centering alignment guide for quick attachment.

About the Stikit™ System

The 3M™ Stikit™ Low Profile Abrasive Disc Back-up Pad was specifically designed to be used with 3M Stikit abrasive discs. The Stikit™ system was created to make it easy to switch between abrasive grades or applications. Stikit™ abrasive discs come with a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on the back, making it as simple as pressing on a sticker to attach them to the hand block. They also remove cleanly without leaving any adhesive residue on the block.

Low Profile for Flattening and Leveling

The 3M™ Stikit™ Low Profile Abrasive Disc Back-up Pad has a taper of either 10 or 15 degrees, which allows it to conform to small contours and get into tight corners. Its low profile and hard density make it ideal for flattening and leveling surfaces, as it can tackle imperfections without yielding or deflecting.

Beat Bumps in the Road

While some Stikit™ backup pads feature holes for enhanced dust extraction, the 3M™ Stikit™ Low Profile Abrasive Disc Back-up Pad does not. Operators may choose a backup pad without holes when working on substrates where loading or debris are not as much of a concern. The 6" diameter disc has a 3/8" thickness, which qualifies it as low profile. When you anticipate bumps in the road, this backup pad is a great tool to have on hand.
