PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is the 3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Resin 281 Part A?

The 3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Resin 281 Part A is an epoxy-based electrical insulation resin used for splicing and terminating wires and cables.

  2. How much does a single pail contain?

Each pail of the 3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Resin 281 Part A contains 36 lbs of product that can easily fill up to twenty-four size range or less than four half-inch, full-taped connectors per kit.

  3. Can it be utilized for outdoor applications?

Yes, this premium-grade insulating compound has exceptional hydrophobicity (water-repelling quality) perfect for outdoor applications. It also has UV stability qualities.

  4. How long does it take to cure after pouring over a splice or termination?

After pouring over your splice or termination, dependably give more time to ensure curing in ambient room temperature until hardens found on the surface level which depends on specific site conditions like humidity and thickness. Typically cures within hours but takes several days to fully cure through thicker sections depending on environmental conditions/surrounding temperatures.

  5. Is it safe to use?

Absolutely! Not only is our product reliable with its dielectric strength resisting various chemicals and moisture migration but also meets different safety standards having UL Recognized Component symbol certificate too- giving you optimum protection while ensuring peace of mind as well!

3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Resin 281 is a high-quality electrical resin that is perfect for applications that require excellent thermal shock and mechanical shock resistance. This resin has a low gel point rating, which ensures a quick curing process when kept in warm environments. After curing, the resin exhibits a semi-flexible and good adhesion property, thanks to its high tensile strength. One of the best features of this resin is its high dielectric strength, which offers excellent electrical insulating property. Additionally, it has a high flash point, which helps prevent any fire hazard due to quick ignition. The resin also exhibits hydrolytic stability property, which minimizes quick chemical decomposition, thus providing long-lasting usage. This product is Mil 16923 Certified and RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of quality and safety. If you're looking for a reliable and high-quality electrical resin, 3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Resin 281 is an excellent choice.
