Thin Caliper with Long-Term Strength

The 3M™ Super Bond Film Tape 396 is a versatile tape that can be used for repairing and reinforcing high-wear areas of rip-stop nylon, holding polyethylene barrel liners in place, splicing large photographic acetate transparencies, and splicing polyester conveyor belts. The tape's transparent polyester backing is thin and has a high tensile strength, while the rubber resin adhesive provides quick adhesion and holding power. The tape can handle temperatures from 40°F-200°F and resists chemicals and abrasion for long-lasting hold.

When purchasing this tape, it is important to consider the overall thickness (backing and adhesive) to ensure optimal performance in your application.

3M™ Polyester Tapes

3M Polyester Tapes are designed for demanding applications in graphic arts, photography, metal finishing, and electronics. These tapes come in a variety of thin backing calipers and adhesives to meet specific application needs. They can be used for splicing silicone-treated paper, low profile decorative trim, edge and hole reinforcing, and photo film splicing.
