To save time and increase throughput, 3M Cubitron II Roloc Durable Edge Disc 984F combines the convenience of the 3M Roloc Quick-Change Attachment System with 3M proprietary Precision-Shaped Grain (PSG) technology, delivering outstanding cut rates and disc life. This disc is designed for edge work and is constructed with a laminated 2-ply polyester backing for wear-resistance, ensuring long life and durability. The PSG technology used in this disc allows for an exceptionally high cut-rate with less pressure, enabling operators to finish tough tasks faster and with less fatigue. Additionally, a grinding aid is incorporated on the disc, making it an excellent choice for all types of metal. The grinding aid helps keep the disc cooler on stainless steel and heat-sensitive metals such as nickel alloys and titanium, reducing metal discoloration/oxidation and the chance of heat-related stress cracks. 3M Cubitron II products have set a new standard for high-performing abrasives. The Precision-Shaped Grain outcuts and outlasts conventional ceramic industrial abrasives, requiring less grinding force to achieve superior performance. This means that operators can grind faster and complete more parts per disc with less muscle-work and fatigue. The PSG technology used in Cubitron II products is created by starting with 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain and using proprietary technology to form the grains into triangular structures. These grains are then electrostatically oriented on the backing to form sharp peaks that maximize cutting potential. Unlike traditional abrasives that gouge or plow through metal, the sharp peaks of PSG slice cleanly through the metal, continuously self-sharpening as the points break off. This generates a super-fast cut and reduces heat build-up due to friction, minimizing heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. Furthermore, PSG wears evenly, and because the abrasive itself stays cooler and sharper, Cubitron II products last significantly longer than conventional ceramic counterparts.
