  1. What is the purpose of 3M's Scotch-Brite™ Molding Adhesive and Stripe Removal Disc?

    The Scotch-Brite™ Molding Adhesive and Stripe Removal Disc is used for removing adhesive residue, stickers, decals, and striping tape from surfaces without damaging underlying surface.

  2. Can it be used on any material or only specific ones?

    It can be used on a wide range of surfaces including automotive paints, bare metal, glass & plastic for the removal of adhesives as well as tapes.

  3. How does this disc differ from other conventional sandpaper discs in the market?

    The Scotch-Brite™ Molding Adhesive and Stripe Removal Disc combines abrasive minerals with non-woven fibers to produce a free-cutting capability. Sandpapers may generate more heat which could damage underlying finish where our product is specially designed that it won’t burn through easily while offering efficient results.

  4. Is there anything else I need to know about using this stripping disc

    .: When using it make sure to wear safety glasses/face shield. For better efficiencies you might want to pretest application; Use moderate pressure at recommended RPM may lead to desirable result

Ease of Use

Scotch-Brite™ Molding Adhesive and Stripe Removal Disc is a solid, molded rubber wheel that can efficiently remove unwanted vinyl stripes, numbers, letters, and graphics. The disc creates friction and heat as it spins, wearing adhesive moldings and stripes away. This eliminates the need for prep work with heat tools like blow dryers, heat lamps, and guns, which increases productivity and speeds up the removal process. Now, you can easily remove details without having to use messy spray and gel compounds.

The disc will not gouge, mar, or dent non-heat-sensitive surfaces that lie beneath the decals. This makes it ideal for use on non-heat-sensitive gel coats, acrylic enamels, and urethane paints. The MOS for this disc is <4000 RPM, allowing it to be used with various tools, including slow speed grinders or portable drills. Scotch-Brite™ Molding Adhesive and Stripe Removal Disc is roughly an inch thick and is a solid molded product that is dense, durable, and long-lasting. The narrow width of the disc lends itself to removing small straight lines, such as pin stripping.
